Does RiverGIS have the capability to create nested grid areas (with higher resolution) within a larger, coarser grid?  I know this can sort of be done by being creative with breaklines, but I would prefer to have polygon areas within my main mesh that are of higher resolution.  Also, when RiverGIS creates a 2D mesh, is it able to ensure there are no polygons with more than 8-sides?  HEC-RAS does not seem to like polygons with more than 8-sides.

Thanks so much.

The variable mesh density is planned for a future version.

Currently there is no way to check for mesh cells having more than 8 sides. Previewing the mesh is still an option. We are awaiting a native Voronoi diagram creation tools in PostGIS, which would enable dealing with the problem in a sensible manner.
